E-learning that works from Balance Learning

We build e-learning that’s fun, interactive and easy to use. We combine award winning instructional design with a compelling blend of video, audio and animation to engage and stimulate. We design our courses around core values and principles which encourage learners to treat people with respect, value difference and to embrace their own self-development and self-awareness.

Our course content is practical and effective with real-world input from practitioners and customers. We focus on tips and techniques that learners can put to use right away and we make available thought provoking exercises in our activity books and classroom resource packs that help embed learning in the workplace.

We are committed to effective learning for the people who use our courses to results for our customers who buy them.

Because we offer courses that are interesting, inspiring and relevant people like and use them. This is why our e-learning really works!

We have two series of courses with different approaches:

Whichever format you choose, there is a set of unifying design values that define our courses.

Tracking and measuring the learning

Our courses are SCORM 1.2 compliant and will integrate with an external LMS or can be used with the Balance Learning Portal.

The Balance Learning Portal is an easy to use learning management system that makes it easy to track and monitor individual participant’s progress. Click here for full details regarding The Balance Learning Portal.

Practical Business Skills courses are supported by Course Reference Books that contain all the content and exercises in text and graphics, and Student Activity Books that contain activities such as self assessment and peer observation and analysis, templates to help students plan how to use what they've learned in their workplace, as well as a summaries and a learning log.

People want to be in control of their learningEvery Balance Learning course has the same easy navigation and structure that makes it easy for students to know where they are, review and plan and pace how they learn.

People want to learn, not be taughtWe encourage students to "discover" principles, techniques and strategies by analysing their own behaviour and the behaviour they observe around them, and by observing and analysing business examples and video scenarios, making inferences and decisions and seeing the results of those decisions. This approach has two key benefits: it keeps the student involved and interacting and it provides learning experiences that are more likely to stick and change behaviour and attitude. Optional classroom, online and workbook activities then help embed learning within the context of the workplace.

People want practical resultsAdult learners have many conflicting priorities. When they make the commitment to train, they want to walk away with ideas they can put into practice straight away. Our designers always apply the "so-what" test. "So what will the learner be able to do with this information?" Consequently our e-learning is full of practical tips and techniques; our post course activities help put them into practice.

People want to be satisfied they've progressedStudents who feel satisfied at the end of the training event that they've progressed will feel more motivated to use what they've learned in their own work situation. We generate satisfaction through the main body of the content using frequent interactions with tailored feedback and carefully layering information for example, applying general concepts to a real life case study. We also offer students a post course test to establish mastery.
